Miami Florida 2007 High Rise Condo Construction

Miami New Construction Show This Weekend

The first ever condominium construction trade show kicked off yesterday and is running all weekend at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The goal of the Miami New Construction Show, running through Sunday, is to pass along information and hopefully woo potential buyers and their agents. Other businesses who are benefiting from the real estate boom in South Florida, like immigration lawyers, tax advisors, property managers, title companies, architects, interior designers, and mortgage lenders,  are also present at the event, where networking opportunities are ever present. The show consists of approximately 86 exhibitors with 47 new and pre-construction projects in the area.

According to a recent Miami Herald article, the show’s chief executive officer, Anita Funtek, claims that the idea for the expo came to her because the process of learning about the numerous condo projects under way in Miami is can be quite time consuming and labor intensive. Funtek said, “We are showcasing everything here in one place. You can see most of the projects. You can meet people, you can socialize.” In addition to the informative booths, the show will also highlight panel discussions on topics such as the role of social media in real estate, factors fueling the pre-construction boom, crowdfunding in real estate, and Miami’s place among cities around the world.

A majority of recent sales have been to foreign buyers, with many overseas investors looking to move capital into the United States or just pick up a second home. The Miami-based firm, Cranspotters.com, responsible for tracking the pre-construction market, has reported that seven towers east of Interstate 95 have been completed this year with an additional 54 under construction. Additionally, 59 more projects are planned by haven’t broken ground yet while 53 more are still in the planning phase.

It’s not too late to get to the show. It’s being held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Hall D, 1901 Convention Center Drive and runs through Sunday, August 31. Tickets are $35 and include access for the entire day. For more information, visit the website, http://miaminewconstructionshow.com/.
